Description

This is an outline of writing activity ideas using the Soot and Mooch text. The outline is loosely based on The Writing Revolution Sample Pacing Guide (references are within the PDF). There are activities for younger and older learners. The idea is that no matter where you are on your journey with The Writing Revolution, you should be able to use Soot and Mooch and create a writing activity for students.

The guide moves through the following:

  1. Capitalise first words, proper nouns, use commas

  2. Use commas in a list

  3. Scrambled sentences

  4. Sentence types

  5. Conjunctions

  6. Sentence Expansion

  7. Subordinating conjunctions

  8. Appositives

  9. Transitions – Change of Direction

  10. Transitions – Illustrations

  11. Transitions – Emphasis
